Beginning her career in Advancement Services in 1999 as the Advancement Co-ordinator for Rosseau Lake College (RLC), an independent school on Lake Rosseau, Michelle Gibbons took leave to pursue an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Political Science from York University, where she graduated in the top 5% of her class.

Michelle returned to RLC and accepted the role of Director of Advancement, successfully coordinating a multi-million dollar capital campaign cumulating in the construction of a new academic centre. In her role as Director, Michelle advanced the school’s mission, creating fund development initiatives, planning communication strategies, and cultivating and building partnerships.

Michelle has been a volunteer board member of a variety of community organizations such the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Northern Central Ontario Hockey Association. She is also a Big Sister and is the chair of the Big Brother’s/Sister’s fundraising committee in Muskoka.

With a creative flair and a talent for writing, Michelle brings her expertise to The Ben Farella group focusing on project management and resource development. Energetic, intuitive, and diplomatic, Michelle has a knack for troubleshooting problems and focusing on the fine details.

Michelle continues her professional development and is pursuing her Fundraising Management certificate through Ryerson University and hopes to obtain her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credentials in the near future.
